Thinking about James Horner…and an idea

So, in two months, it will unbelievably be the first anniversary of the death of James Horner, one of the greatest film composers of the 21st century. Sometimes it’s still hard for me to believe that he’s really gone, the world of film music certainly will never be the same without him.

An idea has been growing in  my head for some time, but I’ve been shy about asking for a while, but now I need to know cause I’d really like to make this happen. To honor the memory of James Horner, I’d really like to host a blogathon (or at least help organize it, maybe it’s the same thing). I want to do a blogathon where everyone picks their favorite film with a James Horner score (and there’s a lot to choose from) and talk about the film, why they like it, what’s their favorite part about it, and so on.

The thing is, I’ve never done my own blogathon before and I really have no idea where/when/how to start. So, if I could have some help in putting this together (it would be in the month of June), I would really REALLY appreciate it.

Thanks! -Bex

I think that’s a great idea and you could count me in! 🙂

I’ve never hosted one either, though I’ve joined in a couple – I wouldn’t be too sure where to start. Maybe do a post with a cool header picture (that you could use as your ‘icon’ of the blogathon) and a list of movies that contain Horner scores (or just a link to Wiki or IMDB) and ask people to spread the word and comment if they want to join in?

I’ve been part of a blogathon but never hosted. It’s a great idea though and I’d love to take part! My Avatar review was dedicated to James Horner
To clarify, are we talking about the movie or the specifically the score?
Either way, count me in 🙂
