John Williams WILL score Star Wars: Episode VIII

Okay film music lovers, it’s officially safe to breathe again. John Williams WILL be returning to score Star Wars: Episode VIII (scheduled to be released in 2017).

*everyone releases collective sigh of relief*

As I said in an earlier post, I am not ready to say goodbye to John Williams in Star Wars just yet. I am beyond relieved that he’s returning for at least one more Star Wars film.

What I’m NOT so thrilled about is the accompanying news that John Williams will also be scoring the FIFTH (yes, I said fifth) Indiana Jones film. I’m sure it will be great, it’s just anyone who saw the fourth film knows that it wasn’t so good, so why do we need another Indiana Jones film? Maybe THIS one will be better than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (and that’s a very big maybe).
