Jerry Goldsmith to receive star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

In very exciting news, I’m happy to report that the late Jerry Goldsmith (who passed away in 2004) will be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as part of the 2017 class of honorees.

Goldsmith is more than deserving of this honor, and even though it is posthumously given, it means a great deal to his friends, family and the legions of film music lovers who adore his music. (It also gives me yet another reason to visit Hollywood).

Additional honorees include (but are not limited to): NSYNC, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Selena, Tyra Banks, Mark Ruffalo, Criss Angel, Chris Pratt, George A. Romero and Ryan Reynolds (the full list is actually quite long).

Congratulations to the family of Jerry Goldsmith for this great honor!

Agreed. I’m not sure if any other film composers have stars of their own, but if not, I hope Jerry Goldsmith receiving the honor starts a trend to give film composers the honors they are due 🙂
