Hello everyone! I’m Becky, I am 33 years old and I have a PhD. in Musicology, specializing in film music. I think part of the reason I love movies and music so much is because being on the autistic spectrum makes it difficult at times to relate or communicate with people or certain situations, and music and movies provide that outlet, that release for me. I grew up listening to Disney soundtracks , and those songs always stuck in my head. It made me so happy when I reached graduate school and was informed that I could indeed study film music for my career.
Since I specialize in film music, this blog mostly features articles on the music in films, though I will also write about films in general, or feature composer interviews, or sometimes random film related things (I usually find a way to involve music somehow though).
Why Film Music Central? I gave my blog this name because, when I created it, I had the idea of making a hub for all information relating to film music and film composers (that’s one reason why I’m finding as many composer interviews as I can, so anyone who’s interested can come to one place and find what they need).
I hope you enjoy reading about film music, please feel free to leave comments or begin a discussion!

hey, thanks for letting me know, unfortunately with my dissertation writing taking over more of my time, I don’t really have time right now for blogathons, but I hope yours goes well 🙂
